Remember that a HouseTour Video is only one of the three types of Real Estate Videos that you can record with the housiders app. Find more information on the link 👉🏼 Types of Real Estate Videos.
The house tours are a detailed video tour of the entire property, with the objective that potential buyers or renters have a complete view of the property before they decide to visit it in person.
In short, it is a very simple video. It is about walking around the property with the mobile phone (with the help of a gimbal if possible), trying to show all the details of the property.
Take a look at the following video, 👇🏼 to get an idea of the final result.
1. How to record a HouseTour or Walkthrough Video?
*You can record a HouseTour and a Listing Video in the same project and then create them together.
1. Open the housiders app. Select the “New Project” option.
2. Add the Reference (it must be unique for each project and cannot contain spaces or symbols, only letters, numbers or hyphen under “_”). Optionally you can add a Project Name (so that you can locate the project more easily; e.g. Villa 5 Calle Real).
3. In the “Tour” tab, you can record your video clips (bottom red button) or upload one from your terminal (bottom “upload” button).
4. Finally, once you have recorded or uploaded all your clips (in vertical format *recommended, although you can also create it in horizontal), press the bottom black “create” button.
* Before clicking the create button, you have several options:
*The housiders app automatically edits, plays music and creates the video.
2. In which format should we record?

It should be recorded in Vertical format, to transmit the sensation of walking through the property and achieve greater realism.

Place your cell phone in a vertical position, so that the camera lens is at the top.
3. How long should a HouseTour Video be?
A HouseTour should last between 2 minutes for smaller properties and there are some that last up to 8-10 minutes, depending on how you have prepared it previously and if it is narrated.

Actually, there is no definite duration, but for smaller properties, you should try to go into more detail, to give more of a sense of showing the whole property.
It is imperative to walk the property before you start shooting to find out what elements can enhance your video and from what angles to shoot them.
4. Movements
Our recommendation is to hold the smart phone (with the gimbal) in front of your body, and keep it in the same position during the whole tour until you get more practice.
Afterwards, you can use a mix of all the movements to get a more professional video.
You have information about the main movements in the link: 👉🏼 How to record a Highlight Video.
5. Scenes and Angles
Include interior and exterior scenes of the property. Focus on highlights such as the garden, kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathroom or any other feature that makes the property stand out and include decorative elements that deserve to be highlighted.
Wide Angle 0,5x
The wide-angle lens is undoubtedly the most recommended for recording a House Tour since it captures more field.
Current mid-range smart phones come with it as standard.
👈🏼 In the following video, you can get an idea of what can be achieved by simply changing the lens of the cell phone. Set the zoom to 0.5x
6. Tips for creating an impacting video
There are several things to keep in mind when recording:
Move smoothly
Walk slowly and smoothly, avoiding sudden movements.
It is recommended to shoot with the help of a gimbal to get a smooth shot. See the article Mastering Gimbal Balancing to learn more about this technique.
Plan before you shoot
It is important to walk through the property before you start filming to memorize the property and what the best route will be, as well as to discover what elements can enhance your video.
Go to the next level
Once you are more confident, you can introduce elements such as people who accompany you on the tour and even someone to narrate some of the rooms or aspects that make the property unique.
7. Summary
Remember, the main purpose of House Tours is to allow potential buyers or renters to get a complete and detailed experience of the property, helping them make informed decisions about whether they want to visit in person.
They can include a narrative or guide describing the features of each room, highlighting important aspects such as design, finishes, furnishings and any special features. But this technique is more advanced and we recommend practicing first with non-stop tours until the entire property is recorded.
Getting a professional video is not difficult, but it takes practice.
